Several Parcels trains called at the station during the night, with trains from Manchester to Cleethorpes, Lincoln and Crewe that linked in with the York to Shrewsbury TPO.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Class 40s were a regular sight in the Stockport area, several being based at the nearby Longsight Depot. Like many of the class, 40139’s steam heating had been removed, so if the loco was going to be utilised on the TPO, it would have been a cold night for all onboard.
